Information for Shooters

The Black Grouse Close Season is 11th December to 19th August.

Very few estates organise black grouse shoots now due to the rapid declines during the last few decades. Sustainable shooting is possible only where productivity is high. We would ask all prospective shooters, estate owners and gamekeepers to follow the guidelines devised by the Game Conservancy Trust (GCT).
